The Fiesta Burger Murder - Pre-order Available
Hey, everyone. I'm really excited to share some news with you today:
The Fiesta Burger Murder is available for Pre-Order. You can check it out here. The book will be delivered directly to your Kindle on July 4th.
To commemorate this 'event' - it's a big one for me since this is my debut novel - I thought I'd share a few thoughts about the book and the characters.
Firstly, let me say I'm an avid cozy mystery reader. I've been inspired in particular by Jana Deleon and Barbara Ross. I liked that Jana's characters broke the mold and that Barbara's setting was unique, intriguing, and that she included recipes in her books.
When I decided to write this series, I wanted to create characters that were strong, sassy, and unique. I wanted Christie to be fallible, and Griselda to be a little annoying at times. But most of all, I wanted to show that you can't run away from your past.
That's the theme of the first book. You can't run from your past.
I'd really like to continue this series for at least 12 books to complete Christie's story arc (and Grizzy's too). No clues as to what will happen in Sleepy Creek - you'll just have to read to find out!
More about The Fiesta Burger Murder:
Boston Homicide Detective, Christie Watson, wants nothing less than to bury her head in the sand in her hometown, Sleepy Creek, Ohio. Placed on sabbatical for a little ‘over-enthusiasm,’ Chris has to stay out of trouble or risk losing her job for good, and Sleepy Creek, with its clapboard homes and peaceful milieu, seems just the place to do that. But returning to Sleepy Creek means facing the one cold case she’s never solved: her mother’s murder.
The past becomes the least of her worries, however, when a man is murdered in her best friend’s back yard. Griselda, awesome human being all-around and owner of the local Burger Bar – serving scrumptious delights like the Mexican Fiesta Burger – is the prime suspect. To make matters worse, the handsome detective in charge of the case won’t quit asking questions or drop the icy professionalism whenever Chris counters with her own.
Detective Watson can’t let this one slide – sabbatical or not, she won’t let her friend wind up behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit. Equipped with her cop skills, and that thirst for truth, she sets off to solve the murder before it’s too late.
